Ms. Malone regularly assists clients with corporate internal investigations involving allegations of fraud, misconduct, financial irregularities, and other business risks. She helps clients gather and evaluate key information by conducting witness interviews, reviewing complex financial and business records, managing large-scale document reviews, and preparing investigative findings and risk assessments.

Ms. Malone also has substantial experience in electronic discovery and information governance. She assists clients with data preservation, collection, review, and production in litigation, investigations, and regulatory matters, helping them manage electronically stored information efficiently and defensibly. She regularly works with technology-assisted review tools and large volumes of electronically stored information.

Her practice further includes copyright, trademark, media, and technology-related matters. She assists clients with intellectual property disputes, infringement claims, fair use analysis, licensing matters, content-related disputes, and the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, helping them understand risk and safeguard valuable business assets.

Before law school, Ms. Malone worked in advertising in Detroit in print production before transitioning to the media industry. She became a photojournalist in local television news, working with reporters and producers to deliver daily news coverage. She later was promoted to field producer, producing her own feature segments.

Ms. Malone is an Associate practicing in Butzel’s Troy office. She received her juris doctor, summa cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, graduating first in her class. While in law school, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review. She is also a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Arts in the Program in the Environment.
