Overview
In addition to counseling and representing health care and corporate clients, Mr. Schwartz also has experience assisting clients in a variety of industries on various international matters, with a particular emphasis on transactions in Mexico, Latin America, and Canada.
Robert Schwartz is an active member of numerous associations pertinent to his areas of practice. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association; American Bar Association, Health Law and Business Law Sections; and the State Bar of Michigan, Health Care Law, Business Law, and International Law Sections. Mr. Schwartz is also a member of the Oakland County Bar Association and currently serves on the Medical/Legal Committee. The Medical/Legal Committee is unique in that it is comprised of attorneys and physicians working together on matters relevant to both professions. His past appointments include serving on the Michigan Health & Hospital Association’s Committee on Hospital-Physician Alignment and Health Information Strategy Committee.
Representing nonprofit organizations is also a key focus of Mr. Schwartz’s practice. He represents organizations including trade associations, medical organizations, quasi-government organizations, and others.
Robert Schwartz is a Shareholder practicing in Butzel's Troy office. He is a Co-Chair of the firm’s Health Care Industry Team. Mr. Schwartz is admitted to practice in Michigan and New York. Over the course of his career, he has been recognized repeatedly by various prominent legal publications for his work in the area of Health Care Law.
