Overview
Joseph Kuzmiak is an Associate practicing in Butzel’s Troy office. Mr. Kuzmiak concentrates his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, nonprofit organizations, regulatory and transactional matters, corporate governance, entity formation and general corporate and business law. He has assisted clients in the automotive, transportation, construction, commercial and consumer goods industries. Mr. Kuzmiak has assisted in matters including governmental filings on automotive technology, mergers and acquisitions, transactions involving private equity, and formation.
Mr. Kuzmiak graduated top of his class receiving his law degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. While in law school, he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review, was a member of the Moot Court Board of Advocates, and participated in the school’s Federal Pro Se Legal Assistance Clinic. He also interned for Michigan Supreme Court Justice Brian K. Zahra.
Prior to law school, Mr. Kuzmiak gained business analytical experience by holding cost accounting and analytical roles in multiple industries in the Metro Detroit area. He received his Master of Science in Finance and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
