Overview
Garett Koger focuses his practice on commercial litigation, governmental regulation, and election law throughout Michigan. His practice includes complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts.
Mr. Koger provides counsel to political candidates on election law and campaign matters. His experience includes representation of candidates at the State Board of Canvassers, Bureau of Elections, Michigan Court of Appeals, and Michigan Supreme Court. Garett also represents clients in high-profile criminal cases where the subject matter is politically motivated. He seeks to represent candidates for the state legislature, statewide candidates in Michigan, and for the United States Congress.
Garett has represented clients adverse to state administrative departments and seeks to assist more clients facing bureaucratic, regulatory, and administrative obstacles. He enjoys the challenging nature of representing clients in matters involving the administrative state and governmental regulation of industry.
Mr. Koger is a Senior Attorney located in the firm's Lansing office. His litigation experience includes service as an assistant attorney general for the state of Michigan and as a chief assistant prosecutor at the county level. Prior to his legal career, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Garett is a graduate of The Military College of South Carolina (“The Citadel”) and Michigan State University College of Law.
