Overview
In the area of international trade, Ms. Dalal provides guidance on tariff-related issues, including tariff refund efforts, and supports litigation and administrative proceedings arising under US customs and trade laws.
In her patent litigation practice, Ms. Dalal provides counsel to clients through all stages of patent litigation, including fact and expert discovery, preparing witnesses for 30(b)(6) and expert depositions, and supporting comprehensive trial strategy and trial preparation. Her experience includes participating in inter partes review (IPR) and other proceedings before the USPTO.
Ms. Dalal also has experience with patent prosecution and intellectual property (IP) counseling, including assisting with provisional and non-provisional patent applications, analyzing patent portfolios, and supporting IP counseling dockets.
While in law school, Ms. Dalal served as a judicial extern to the Honorable William H. Orrick, III, of the US District Court for the Northern District of California, where she drafted preliminary orders in patent infringement matters and conducted case analyses with chambers. She also worked as a summer associate at a Washington, DC intellectual property firm, where she supported a range of patent matters including litigation, client counseling, and patent prosecution.
Ms. Dalal is an Associate practicing in Butzel’s Washington, DC office. She received her juris doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Her undergraduate degrees, a Master of Science in Biotechnology and Bachelor of Science in Biology, provide her with a strong technical foundation, particularly in technically complex disputes involving biochemical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology technologies.
