Terrence J. Miglio focuses his practice on labor and employment law and employment and labor litigation. Drawing on more than 40 years of experience, he helps employers navigate complex labor and employment disputes and has obtained successful results for clients in federal and state courts, and administrative agencies. He handles discrimination, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, whistleblower, wage and hour, trade secret, and health care credentialing issues. He regularly represents clients in federal and state courts across the country and has successfully defended employers in numerous jury trials.  He also represents clients before the National Labor Relations Board and in labor arbitrations.

Overview

Terry represents employers in matters involving equal employment opportunity (EEO) charges, unfair labor practice charges, and wage and hour complaints. His experience extends to advising health care organizations on peer review, medical staff credentialing, and disciplinary matters.

Private and public sector employers of all sizes benefit from Terry’s expertise on workplace policies, reductions in force, severance programs and agreements, employment contracts, employee and workplace investigations, discipline, and termination matters involving union, non-union, and highly compensated employees. He is regularly engaged to train attorneys, managers, and executives on topics of labor relations, employment discrimination, and civil rights.

Terry Miglio is a Shareholder practicing in Butzel’s Ann Arbor office. He earned his juris doctor, cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School and received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to practice in Michigan, Ohio, the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals, and in United States District Court jurisdictions across the country. For decades, he has been recognized by regional and national legal publications for his expertise in the areas of labor and employment law, school law, and labor and employment litigation. He has previously served as a Board Member and President of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel. Terry has also been inducted into the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Attorneys and has been regularly honored for his professional accomplishments and contributions to the legal community.
