Overview
Over the course of her career spanning over two decades, Ms. Travis has gained vast experience counseling clients in a variety of matters under the scope of domestic relations. She represents clients in matters including divorce, post-judgment modifications, custody and parenting time issues, child support, paternity, guardianships, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, annulments, and other relevant domestic affairs in Michigan and Indiana courts.
Kelly’s practice also includes advising clients in a broad scope of estate planning needs to include protecting assets, charitable planning, transfer of wealth, and probate and trust administration. Kelly additionally has experience prosecuting ordinance for local municipalities and handling other criminal matters, including expundgments. She also representing clients in other general areas of litigation including civil dispute and contested probate matters ranging in complexity from large to small and for individuals and business entities.
Ms. Travis is a Shareholder located in Butzel’s Southwest Michigan office. Prior to joining the firm, she practiced at a large Michigan firm with offices located throughout the state. She was formerly an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Berrien County.
Proud of her strong connection to the local community, Kelly enjoys giving of her time to support several organizations in fostering development and achievements in youth to prepare them for success.
Kelly Travis received her juris doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law, cum laude, and her Bachelor of Science from Indiana University. She is admitted to practice in Michigan and Indiana.
