Butzel Adds Attorney in Firm’s Southwest Michigan Office
SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. – Attorney Zachary S. Smith has joined Butzel as an Associate in the firm’s South Haven office. Smith focuses his practice in the areas of landlord-tenant law, business formation, contracts, estate planning, real estate, criminal defense and expungements.
Before joining Butzel, Smith practiced at a full-service law firm. He also served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in jurisdictions in Southwest Michigan. He owned and operated a boutique practice in Branch County, Michigan as well.
A community advocate, Smith is currently serving his third term as a Watervliet City Commissioner. He also is a member of the Watervliet Joint Fire Board, the Watervliet Planning Commission, and the Watervliet Parks & Recreation Committee.
Smith earned a J.D. from Valparaiso University Law School and a B.A. with a concentration in Professional and Applied Ethics, magna cum laude, from Western Michigan University.
