Butzel Long hosts 24th Annual Labor, Employment, and Immigration Law Forum November 11, 2011 in Dearborn



DETROIT, Mich. –  Employers are challenged daily with a wide-variety of issues impacting labor, employment, employee benefits and immigration.  Butzel Long will offer discussion and strategies for human resources managers, business owners, in-house attorneys, and anyone involved in human resources or employment matters during the firm’s 24th Annual Labor, Employment, and Immigration Law Forum on Friday, November 11, 2011 at The Dearborn Inn at 20301 Oakwood Boulevard in Dearborn.

Attorneys from Butzel Long’s Labor, Employment, Benefits, and Immigration Law areas will offer timely information on a wide variety of issues during this one-day seminar which begins with registration at 7:15 a.m.  The conference runs from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.  The $175 registration fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, reception, and seminar materials.  This program is pending approval for PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). 

“Our objective is to offer a complete program with the latest information on labor and employment, employee benefits and immigration law matters, and we are pleased that attendees will hear presentations from some of the four new labor and employment attorneys who have joined us since last year,” said Daniel B. Tukel, Chair of Butzel Long’s Labor and Employment Law Department.

The program begins with an update on some of the important decisions and legislation in labor and employment law throughout the past year and what new legislation may be on the horizon.

In addition to the general session, the Butzel Long seminar features 15 breakout workshop sessions focusing on issues faced by most employers.  Participants can customize this part of the seminar by selecting three of the 15 workshops offered.

The featured luncheon speaker is Lee E. Meadows, Ph.D., a Professor of Management at Walsh College and a consultant with more than 30 years of experience working for, and consulting with, leading organizations on a variety of management issues.  He is the author of the business leadership fable, Take the Lull by the Horns: Closing the Leadership Gap.  Dr. Meadows takes his humorous real-life experiences and applies dynamic change management principles to present ways employers can create great places to work.
