Rebecca S. Davies and Francyne B. Stacey join firm as shareholders

DETROIT, Mich. –  Butzel Long has added employment law attorneys Rebecca S. Davies and Francyne B. Stacey as shareholders to the firm.  Ms. Davies focuses her practice in the areas of employment law and commercial litigation.  Ms. Stacey counsels clients in the areas of employment and immigration law.

Rebecca S. Davies

Based in Butzel Long’s Detroit office, Ms. Davies represents employers in federal and state court litigation and before state and federal administrative agencies.  In addition to her litigation practice, she regularly counsels employers regarding compliance under federal and state employment laws (including FLSA, FMLA, ADA and Title VII), drafts policies and procedures, and, advises on preventative strategies.

Ms. Davies’ objective is to assist clients in implementing preventative strategies.  She is a frequent author and lecturer, not only for client in-house trainings and publications, but also for outside organizations, including: Walsh College, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Automation Alley and the American Society of Employers.

Ms. Davies received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan at Dearborn her juris doctorate, magna cum laude, from the Detroit College of Law in 1995 and, her master’s degree, LL.M. in Labor and Employment Law, from Wayne State University Law School.
Francyne B. Stacey

Ms. Stacey is based in Butzel Long’s Ann Arbor office.  Since completing law school, Ms. Stacey has devoted her practice, almost exclusively, to employment law including litigation before various state and federal courts and administrative agencies and providing day-to-day counsel to clients (both profit and not-for profit organizations) on issues such as personnel policies, FMLA compliance, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), disability and work-related injuries, non-compete and confidentiality agreements, HIPAA, affirmative action, federal and state contract and grant compliance and employee discipline.

Ms. Stacey’s expertise in immigration law includes business, individual and family immigration matters.

In addition to practicing law, Ms. Stacey is a dedicated community volunteer.  Currently, she is on the Board of the Washtenaw County Chapter of the American Red Cross and, for many years, served on the Board of the Michigan Theater Foundation.  Ms. Stacey has served on the executive committee of both of these organizations and contributed her services and energy to a number of other non-profit groups and causes.

Ms. Stacey earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan (B.A. Ed., 1977, with distinction) and her law degree from Wayne State University (J.D., 1981).
