Whether helping clients to plan ahead, administer a loved one’s estate, or navigate a probate-related matter, Shannon provides practical guidance designed to bring clarity to important decisions. She assists with the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, prenuptial agreements, and other estate planning documents tailored to each client’s individual needs and objectives.
Shannon also advises clients through estate administration, including asset distribution, property collection and organization, creditor claims, and probate court proceedings. In contested and uncontested matters, she represents fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and other interested parties in matters involving decedent estates, trusts, conservatorships, and guardianships. Her careful, client-centered approach helps clients address sensitive legal and family matters with practical guidance, discretion, and attention to detail.
Beyond estate administration matters, Shannon's practice includes probate litigation as well as child welfare and juvenile law. She advocates for individuals and families in sensitive and often challenging legal circumstances, providing practical guidance tailored to their unique needs. Through a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach, Shannon helps clients navigate complex proceedings, make informed decisions, and work toward outcomes that protect their interests and support their long-term goals.
Shannon Zabolotny is an Associate practicing in Butzel’s Troy office. She received her juris doctor, summa cum laude, as the first-ranked graduate in her class from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and History, summa cum laude, from Alma College. During law school, Shannon held a judicial externship with the Honorable Helene N. White of the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
