Butzel attorney Sarah L. Nirenberg named to Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2022 Class of ‘Up & Coming Lawyers’

TROY, Mich. –  Butzel attorney Sarah L. Nirenberg is one of 22 attorneys in the state named to Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2022 Class of “Up & Coming Lawyers.” The attorneys will be honored during a luncheon on April 8 at the Detroit Marriott Troy and profiled in an upcoming edition of Michigan Lawyers Weekly.

Attorneys recognized for this honor have distinguished themselves in the practice of law. The honorees were evaluated based on nominations by their peers, colleagues, and associates. The recipients were selected by a committee based on their outstanding professional accomplishments and their mentoring/ community involvement.

Nirenberg, based in Butzel’s Troy office, specializes in representing employers for litigation in all areas of employment law, including statutory claims under federal and state law for discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and payment of wages.

She has experience representing large and small business across different industries, as well as public institutions. She advises employers on various matters where the law is constantly evolving, such as employment applications, arbitration agreements, and workplace drug policies. She also helps guide employers through complex wage and hour law as well as investigations conducted by the Department of Labor.

Nirenberg has a wealth of trial advocacy and investigatory skills to her practice from having served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. Outside the courtroom, she uses these skills to conduct sensitive workplace investigations for her clients. Her use of technology and ingenuity has led to obtaining information critical to successfully disposing cases.

Nirenberg earned a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, School of Law in 2013. She received a B.A. from Michigan State University’s James Madison College and Honors College in 2009.
