NILES, Mich. – Butzel continues to grow with the addition of Robert Devetski, who recently joined the firm as a senior attorney in the Niles office. Devetski focuses his practice in the areas of trust, estate, and business disputes. He is a skilled trial lawyer renowned for his proficiency in quickly identifying vital facts and then strategically managing disputes for efficient and successful resolution.

Having practiced in South Bend, Indiana as a litigator for more than 35 years, and as a mediator for 25 years, Devetski has represented clients in a variety of sectors on matters including insurance coverage disputes, complex contract disputes, breach of warranty claims, and noncompete agreements.

Devetski’s broad experience includes counseling and representing clients in matters related to estate plans, trustees and beneficiaries in will and trust contests, wealth management-related disputes, fiduciary and estate representatives, and fiduciary misconduct. He is a Registered Indiana Civil Mediator and has mediated more than 75 cases involving business disputes and personal injury claims.

Devetski earned a J.D. and a B.A. from Indiana University–Bloomington. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association – Litigation Section, former Chair; Probate Section; State Bar of Michigan – Litigation Section; Probate & Estate Planning Section; Laporte County Bar Association, Indiana; and, the St. Joseph County Bar Association, Indiana. He is a former president of the Robert A. Grant Inn of Court, St. Joseph County, Indiana. He also has served on judicial selection panels for various federal and state courts. Notably, Devetski has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® – Insurance Law, 2008-2025 and Lawyer of the Year – Insurance Law, 2017, 2025.
