Attorney Clara DeMatteis Mager to speak on EB5 investors visas during presentation in Mexico City as well

DETROIT, Mich. – Butzel Long's Global Automotive Practice is recognized as the premier legal and business advisory group to automotive suppliers in the world's most important automotive markets. Butzel Long attorney James C. Bruno will be featured during a panel presentation on financial risks and opportunities during the International Conference of the Mexico Automotive Industry (CIIAM) 2009 July 13-15, 2009, in Mexico City. The presentation will include how suppliers have been treated in the Chrysler and General Motors bankruptcy proceedings. In addition, Butzel Long attorney Marie Alsace Galindo will be moderating a panel presentation during the Conference.

On a related programming note, Butzel Long attorney Clara DeMatteis Mager will be giving a presentation in Mexico City as well during the same time frame. Her presentation will focus on EB5 investors visas (the permanent residency green cards) that the United States government grants to foreign investors when they invest in the United States.

James C. Bruno

James C. Bruno is a shareholder practicing in Butzel Long's Detroit office and recently concluded service on the firm's Board of Directors. Mr. Bruno's primary practice includes corporations and limited liability companies sales representatives and distributorships supplier relations immigration and foreign employment international business law closely held business mergers and acquisitions joint ventures and taxation. Mr. Bruno has extensive experience in providing legal services to both large organizations and family businesses. He was Counsel General in Detroit for El Salvador from 1973 to 1997.

Marie Alsace Galindo

Marie Alsace Galindo is the only licensed-in-Mexico attorney in Michigan certified by the State Bar to advise on Mexican law. Ms. Galindo is based in the firm's Detroit office and serves as the international practice advisor for Mexican and Latin American legal and business issues.

Ms. Galindo has significant experience and professional relationships both in Mexico and in the Mexican business community. She has cultivated strong ties with the leading Mexican business and industry groups, with an emphasis on automotive and manufacturing organizations. Ms. Galindo also has experience in a variety of Mexican legal areas including corporate labor and employment law immigration matters and intellectual property law.

Clara DeMatteis Mager

Clara DeMatteis Mager is a shareholder based in Butzel Long's Detroit office and the Practice Group Manager of the firm's Immigration Group. Ms. Mager focuses her practice on business and family immigration issues including all aspects of the international movement of personnel, inbound and outbound work-authorized nonimmigrant (temporary) and immigrant (permanent) status, immigration consequences of mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring, employer sanctions, and immigration law audits (e.g. labor condition applications and I-9).
