Overview
With more than four years of paralegal experience, Victoria is well-versed in assisting to accurately prepare complex immigration petitions including H-1B, L-1, O-1, Trade NAFTA (TN), and Adjustment of Status (AOS) filings, Employment Authorization Documents (EAD), and Advance Parole applications for submission to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), while ensuring compliance with strict deadlines and documentation requirements.
With a strong command of various case management systems, Victoria effectively tracks and manages extensive caseloads. Victoria directly communicates with foreign nationals to collect documentation, secure necessary signatures, and provide regular updates, while also drafting forms and customized support letters for attorney review.
Fluent in Spanish, Victoria frequently provides real-time translation support during attorney-client consultations and translates legal documents, including birth certificates and affidavits, from Spanish to English.
Before joining Butzel, Victoria worked as an Immigration Paralegal at a large international business law firm. Prior to that role, she gained hands-on experience through legal internships and fellowships with organizations such as Advocates for Immigrant Rights (AIR) and World Relief Memphis, where she assisted in asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ), and T-visa a/k/a T nonimmigrant status applications, transitioned case management systems, and supported client communications with USCIS. Victoria also previously contributed to environmental justice initiatives as a legal and policy intern with the Transnational Environmental Law Clinic in Detroit, Michigan.
Victoria Fuentes is a Paralegal located in Butzel’s Detroit office. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a concentration in Comparative Politics, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies, with a concentration in Environmental and Social Justice, both from The Ohio State University. Victoria also completed her first full year of legal studies at Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where she was active in the Hispanic Law Student Association and the Memphis Professional Development Program.
