Overview
Kevin advises employers and educational institutions on a broad range of labor and employment matters, combining practical counsel with a strong understanding of litigation risk. He represents clients in disputes involving discrimination; harassment; whistleblower claims; workplace safety, including Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) matters; trade secret; wage and hour issues, including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) matters; and non-compete/non-solicit claims. He also counsels employers on compliance questions, workplace investigations, and traditional labor matters. In the education sector, Kevin works with institutions on issues affecting students, faculty, administrators, governing boards, and the institution as a whole.
Prior to joining the firm, Kevin worked in human resources roles in the public and private sectors, conducting employee investigations, advising on compliance with employment laws, and handling labor relations matters, including contract negotiations, arbitrations, and grievances. His professional background gives him a practical perspective on workplace disputes and legal compliance.
Kevin is an Associate in Butzel’s Troy office. During law school, he interned with Judge Christopher M. Murray of the Michigan Court of Appeals and Judge Terrence Berg of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Kevin received his juris doctor magna cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Detroit Mercy Law Review.
