For more than two decades, David Williams has been immersed in the Information Technology (IT) industry. Recognized for his innovative approach to providing practical, efficient, and economical IT solutions to organizations, he effectively directs all IT operations for Butzel’s seven office locations throughout the country. As the firm’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) and a member of the C-Suite, he is responsible for ensuring up-to-date and secure IT systems are in place for the firm’s employees and clients.

Mr. Williams directs Butzel’s accomplished staff of IT professionals as they collectively work to optimize efficiency and profitability for the firm. He is unwavering in his dedication to employing current best practices when it comes to the firm’s cybersecurity strategies. David has deep experience in system administration and team management. He is an accomplished solutions architect and has achieved successful outcomes not only in managing teams, technology, and data, but also in developing and maintaining effective budgetary strategies. His experience encompasses all aspects of process improvement, negotiating vendor contracts, and ensuring compliance with current industry and governmental IT regulations.

Prior to joining the firm, David Williams served in executive-level IT leadership roles in the automotive, health care, supply chain, and finance industries. He is most passionate about recognizing each member of his team for their unique personal attributes and  mentoring each professional to achieve their highest career objectives.

David Williams earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix and an Associate in Design Engineering from the University of Michigan – Flint. He additionally holds various certifications relevant to the IT sector. Mr. Williams is a four-time recipient of the ICE Mortgage Technology Ellie Mae Innovation Award, which recognizes industry leaders for creating extraordinary solutions to achieve business goals and has served as a panelist and speaker at the ICE Experience and Digital Mortgage event.
