Butzel Long senior attorney Angela Emmerling Boufford appointed to the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel Board of Directors

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. – Butzel Long senior attorney Angela Emmerling Boufford has been appointed to the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC) Board of Directors, an association of the leading lawyers in the State of Michigan dedicated to representing individuals and corporations in civil litigation.
“It is an honor to serve the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel in this leadership role,” said Ms. Boufford. “I look forward to working with the rest of the Board and with the membership as a whole to meet the goals and objectives of this key legal organization.”
Based in Butzel Long’s Bloomfield Hills office, Ms. Boufford represents corporate clients in complex business and commercial litigation. She has extensive experience representing Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers in state and federal courts. She has also defended securities brokers and broker/dealers in customer arbitrations (NASD/FINRA) across the country and served as an adjunct securities regulations professor at Ave Maria Law School. In addition, she has significant experience with electronic discovery (ESI) and has been a speaker for both in-firm and public E-Discovery training events.
Ms. Boufford is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
Ms. Boufford is a graduate of Michigan State University (1994) and the Michigan State University College of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 1998). She earned numerous honors during her academic career, including Jurisprudence Achievement Book Awards in Civil Procedure I, Civil Procedure II, Labor Law, and Research Writing and Advocacy.
Ms. Boufford also was a recipient of an Eve August Moot Court Scholarship and the prestigious International Academy of Trial Lawyers Plaque.
