Butzel Long attorneys featured during ASE Inaugural Employment Law Workshop September 18 in Livonia

DETROIT, Mich. – Butzel Long attorneys Gary W. Klotz and Francyne B. Stacey will be featured speakers during the American Society of Employers (ASE) Inaugural Employment Law Workshop on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Schoolcraft College in Livonia. Butzel Long is a sponsor of the program.

Mr. Klotz will be featured during a luncheon “Ask the Lawyers” panel presentation on employee relations topics. Ms. Stacey will present a session titled, “The Bermuda Triangle – The Interplay Between the ADA, Workers’ Compensation and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).” This session will go over the basics of the ADA, Workers’ Compensation and FMLA and how they overlap. Participants will work through a series of scenarios that will help them identify issues that arise if and when one or more of these laws apply.

“This workshop offers a lot of timely and important information for human resources professionals,” said Mr. Klotz.

Gary W. Klotz

Mr. Klotz, based in Butzel Long’s Detroit office, has represented employers in labor and employment law matters for more than 30 years. He has successfully defended employers in state and federal courts, as well as before state and federal administrative agencies. He also has extensive experience representing employers in labor arbitration cases, collective bargaining negotiations, and preventive employee relations counseling.

Francyne B. Stacey

Ms. Stacey, based in Butzel Long’s Ann Arbor office, counsels clients in the areas of employment and immigration law. Her experience in employment law includes representation of a diverse client base with an emphasis on guidance, counseling and drafting policies and practices to assist employers in running a successful business in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. She also is an experienced litigator and has handled a number of matters involving the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans With Disabilities Act, among others. In the immigration area, Ms. Stacey prepares and files non-immigrant and immigrant petitions on behalf of businesses and families.
