Butzel Long attorney Clara DeMatteis Mager featured at November 15 Wayne County Family Law Attorney meeting

DETROIT, Mich. – Butzel Long attorney and shareholder Clara DeMatteis Mager will be a featured speaker at the November 15, 2007 Wayne County Family Law Attorney meeting. Her topic is: "Immigration Law 101."

Ms. Mager was a featured speaker recently during the ICLE's 6th Annual Family Law Institute program. Her topic was immigration law.

She is the practice group manager of Butzel Long's Immigration Group. Ms. Mager focuses her practice on business and family immigration issues including all aspects of the international movement of personnel, inbound and outbound work-authorized nonimmigrant (temporary) and immigrant (permanent) status immigration consequences of mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring employment eligibility and employer sanctions and I-9 and LCA audits.

Ms. Mager is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association (previous member of the Leadership Council of the Immigration Committee), and State Bar of Michigan (Past Chairperson of the International Law Section and previously held positions of Chair-elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Council Member and Chairperson of the Immigration Committee).

She is the Regional Chair of Lex Mundi's Immigration Group (formerly the Chairperson) and Chair, J.D./L.L.B. Advisory Board, University of Detroit Mercy School of Law/University of Windsor Faculty of Law. She is a graduate of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce Leadership Detroit XXII class.

Ms. Mager has organized and participated in numerous seminars and programs in the immigration law area. Ms. Mager is included in the publication The Best Lawyers in America and enjoys an "AV" rating from the Martindale-Hubbell rating system.

Ms. Mager earned a B.S. in 1978 from Wayne State University and a J.D. in 1987 from the Detroit College of Law.
