DETROIT, Mich. – Four Butzel Long shareholders were recently selected by their peers as 2013 Best Lawyers® in America “Lawyers of the Year” (copyright 2012 by Woodward/White, Inc. of Aiken, SC) in the fields of real estate law, international trade and finance law and litigation – construction. The attorneys include:
- James C. Adams has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Ann Arbor Real estate Law “Lawyer of the Year”
- James C. Bruno has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Detroit International Trade and Finance Law “Lawyer of the Year”
- Reginald A. Pacis has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Detroit Immigration Law “Lawyer of the Year”
- James J. Urban has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Lansing Litigation – Construction “Lawyer of the Year”
Best Lawyers began designating “Lawyers of the Year” in the U.S. in high-profile legal practice areas in 2009. Since then, they have extended this honor to many other countries where the Best Lawyers peer-review process is conducted as well.
Only a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year,” making this accolade particularly significant.
Lawyers being honored as “Lawyer of the Year” are selected based on particularly impressive voting averages received during the exhaustive peer-review assessments we conduct with thousands of leading lawyers each year. Receiving this designation reflects the high level of respect a lawyer has earned among other leading lawyers in the same communities and the same practice areas for their abilities, their professionalism, and their integrity.
Since it was first published in 1983, Best Lawyers has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. Because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which more than 36,000 leading attorneys cast almost 4.4 million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas, and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor. Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.”
“This recognition speaks very highly of their abilities and the respect that they have earned in the legal profession,” said Richard E. Rassel, Chairman, Butzel Long. “We are honored that many of our attorneys are recognized annually through publications like Best Lawyers in America.”
Forty-nine Butzel Long attorneys have been chosen by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2013 edition.
