GENERAL PURPOSE:

Butzel is seeking a standout candidate to join our growing team in Southwest Michigan. Our firm has been in existence for over 170 years and has helped shape the legal and business landscape of Michigan’s largest cities. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare for and represent clients in litigation proceedings, including trials, hearings, discovery, motion practice, etc.
Construct and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
Take and defend depositions and interact with expert witnesses.
Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys within the firm.
Maintain responsive communication with other Firm attorneys and clients regarding case developments.
Provide legal counsel and develop case strategies tailored to clients’ unique needs.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to provide client service befitting Butzel standards of excellence and hospitality.
Oversee case files and manage deadlines efficiently using legal practice management systems.
