Defense Manufacturing Communities Support Program Funding Available!

4.23.2021

The Department of Defense’s (DoD) Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation has released a Federal Funding Opportunity (FFO) for its Defense Manufacturing Community Support Program (DMCSP).  DOD has made available $25 million in Fiscal Year 2021 for states and communities to strengthen national security innovation and expand the capabilities of the defense manufacturing industrial ecosystem.  Examples of 2020 funding include artificial intelligence in metals, aerospace and ground vehicles, carbon composites, microelectronics and 5G, missiles and aviation, and 3D technologies.

The DMCSP is designed to support long-term community investments that strengthen national security innovation and expand the capabilities of the defense manufacturing industrial ecosystem. Thus, it provides funding to support and grow the defense industrial base, help with developing new technology while creating new jobs.  The deadline for applying is June 15, 2021.

The Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation will hold a pre-proposal webinar on April 23rd and April 26th at 2 p.m. EDT (11 a.m. PDT), to review the goals and objectives of the Federal Funding Opportunity and answer questions from interested respondents.
