Humor is put to work at Butzel Long’s Annual Labor and Employment Law Forum

October 12 seminar focuses on changing workplace issues, including issues faced during employee termination

DETROIT, Mich. – Southeast Michigan employers will learn how to bring some comic relief to their workplace at the Butzel Long law firm's 20th Annual Labor and Employment Law Forum on Friday, October 12, 2007 at The Dearborn Inn, 20301 Oakwood Boulevard in Dearborn.

Experts from Butzel Long's Labor and Employment Law Practice will provide timely information on a broad range of issues challenging employers during this seminar which begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. The conference runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The $175 registration fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, reception and seminar materials.

As this year’s luncheon speaker, Ronald P. Culberson, "Director of Everything" at FUNsulting, Etc. will present "Managing Your Humor Resources." His presentation will demonstrate how to create a productive organizational culture where fun and excellence coexist, and how to use humor to manage meetings and inspire and motivate staff.

The forum also features a segment on "Separating Employment While Protecting Your Operations." An interactive panel of attorneys will use role play to explore the many issues that employers face when separating employees and will provide guidance on best practices for ensuring the process, and its aftermath, go smoothly.

In addition to the general session, the forum features 15 breakout workshop sessions focusing on issues faced by most employers. Participants can customize this part of the seminar by selecting three of the 15 workshops offered.
