Butzel Long attorney Robert M. Nemzin featured during ABA teleconference on Estate Planning for Business Owners on January 6, 2009

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. – Butzel Long attorney Robert M. Nemzin will be a featured speaker during an American Bar Association, Section of Taxation and Section of Real Property, Trust & Estate Law, teleconference and live audio webcast on January 6, 2009. Mr. Nemzin is one of three attorneys featured during the teleconference.

The focus for the teleconference is, "Estate Planning for Business Owners: Recent Developments You May Have Missed." Closely held business owners have distinctive estate planning needs. The program will concentrate on recent developments in tax planning and administration involving closely held business interests, while considering significant non-tax issues as well.

Based in the firm's Bloomfield Hills office, Mr. Nemzin concentrates his practice in the areas of Estate and Succession Planning, Tax and Corporate law.

Mr. Nemzin is a graduate of New York University School of Law (LL.M., Taxation, 2007). He also is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2006) where he was the Title Editor for the Law Review and a member of the Frank Murphy Honor Society and the Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit Honor Society. Mr. Nemzin interned as a Law Clerk with The Findling Law Firm, P.L.C., where he had the opportunity to research, analyze and draft legal documents including trial and appellate motions, complaints, and affidavits. He also served the Honorable Bernard A. Friedman, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, as a Judicial Intern where he performed a variety of duties including the legal analysis of pending cases and the preparation of memoranda to aid clerks and the Judge in the disposition of pending civil and criminal matters.

Mr. Nemzin is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A., Communication Studies, 2003). He enjoyed many honors as an undergraduate including the following: recipient of the Albert Goodman Scholarship (1999-2000), recipient of the Communication Studies Summer Scholar (June 2002), and recipient of the G. McDonald Communication Studies Scholarship (March 2003). He also received University Honors in both the Winter 2002 and Fall 2002 semesters.

Mr. Nemzin is admitted to practice in Michigan and New York. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Section of Taxation and Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law). He serves as a Fellow in the ABA Real Property, Trust & Estate Fellows Program, and presented on "Recent Developments in Estate Planning and Estate Administration with Closely-Held Businesses" at the ABA Tax/RPTE 2008 Joint Fall CLE meeting. His memberships also include the State Bar of Michigan and the New York State Bar Association.
