Obtaining Cannabis During The COVID-19 Pandemic
Patients can access their medical marijuana at state-licensed provisioning centers by curbside or home delivery pursuant to MMFLA Administrative Rule, R 333.282 and MRTMA Emergency Rule 57. The Marijuana Regulatory Agency (“MRA”) requires that an application is still submitted for home delivery approval. However, the MRA is quickly processing these applications within 24-48 hours.
Additionally, with the closure of the Secretary of State offices pursuant to Governor Whitmer’s Stay Home, Stay Safe Executive Order 2020-21, the renewal for an individual’s driver’s license and state-issued identification cards is an impracticability.
Therefore, effective March 25, 2020, individuals may purchase from licensed provisioning centers and adult-use retailers with either an expired driver’s license or expired state-issued identification card.
Further, a provisioning center and adult-use retailer is allowed to accept an expired Michigan patient or expired caregiver registry identification card that expired within the preceding 60 days.
These provisions will be terminated on April 13, 2020.
