Louis F. Ronayne is an Associate practicing in Butzel’s Detroit office.  Mr. Ronayne focuses his practice primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, including emergency litigation and actions for temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions, and real estate litigation.  In addition, Mr. Ronayne is an appellate practitioner, with vast experience in the Michigan Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.  He also advises companies in regulated industries in actions involving the State of Michigan and local units of government. 

He is a former judicial law clerk for Michigan Supreme Court Justice Brian K. Zahra and research attorney for the Michigan Court of Appeals.

Mr. Ronayne received his law degree, magna cum laude, from the Michigan State University College of Law in 2017. While there, he received several academic accolades, including completion of the college’s Trial Practice Institute, where he was the recipient of the Walter E. Oberer Scholarship. He also served as Executive Editor of the college’s former Journal of Business and Securities Law.  He received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, in 2014 from Adrian College, where was a goaltender on the ice hockey team.

Mr. Ronayne resides in Livingston County with his wife, daughter and two dogs.
