 Jake Santangelo builds off his experience in the legal world and as a tech businessman to help clients navigate complex commercial litigation and intellectual property matters.

Overview

Jake focuses his practice on commercial litigation and intellectual property matters. In addition to his legal career, he is the Founder and CEO of a software company. Jake has programmed and published apps that have made it to the Top 10 Business Apps and the Top 200 Education Apps on the App Store charts. As an experienced tech businessman, he has the business savvy to navigate complex commercial issues and to connect with business clients. 

Committed to public service, Jake served as a White House Intern in the Obama Administration before working on Michigan political campaigns. When the Flint Water Crisis impacted the residents of Flint and captured the attention of the nation, he programmed an app called SafeWater Flint to help residents find clean water.

Jake is an Associate based in Butzel’s Grand Rapids office. He earned his Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School in New York, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, where he graduated with High Honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science - Prelaw.
