Air Force Research Laboratory is headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The AFRL's mission is to lead the discovery, development, and integration of warfighting technologies for our air, space and cyberspace forces.
The laboratory employs approximately 10,000 military and civilian personnel. It is responsible for managing and annual $4.4 billion science and technology program that includes both Air Force and customer funded research and development. AFRL investment includes basic research, applied research and advanced technology development in air, space and cyber mission areas.
The Materials and Manufacturing Directorate develops new materials, processes and manufacturing technologies for use in aerospace applications. This includes aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, rockets and ground-based systems and their structural, electronic and optical components. The directorate plans, executes and integrates advanced manufacturing technology programs and affordability initiatives addressing manufacturing process technologies, computer integrated manufacturing and excellence through design for military needs.
This session will include an overview of the AFRL's major projects and purchased goods and services needs. There will also be a session on how Other Transaction Authority (OTA) provides flexibility for both buyers and sellers. In addition, the AFRL will conduct individual B2B meetings with preregistered companies.
