NEW YORK, NY. – Butzel Long attorney and shareholder Edward Copeland will participate in a panel presentation during the Lex Mundi Labor and Employment and Employee Benefits and Pension Joint Practice Global Meeting April 26-27, 2012 in London, England. Mr. Copeland will participate in a panel presentation on Thursday, April 26 along with Patrick Walsh of Ion Trading. Mario Barros Garcia of Uria Menendez is the moderator of the program.
The program focus is the transfer of business which can cause stress for the buyer, seller and their employees. Legislation has been drafted worldwide to protect employees under this stress. Both the buyer and seller must comply with the legal obligations imposed on them during the transfer of a business. The panel will explore and compare general legislation in different countries regarding transfers of businesses.
Based in Butzel Long’s New York office, Mr. Copeland concentrates his practice on employment matters, intellectual property law, media law, and complex litigation.
Mr. Copeland focuses on representing and counseling employers relating to federal and state discrimination claims, wage and hour violations, ERISA violations, and privacy and security. He has experience in intellectual property matters, including trademark, copyright, trade secrets, and unfair competition.
