Myra MacIsaac Senior Paralegal working in the Immigration Practice Group. In the past 20 years, Ms. MacIsaac has focused on business immigration. In particular, she has assisted both small start up clients and multi-national corporations in registering for and maintaining E treaty status. She has also assisted many clients with family immigration issues, obtaining US passports and naturalization. Her experience includes assisting in planning for and obtaining nonimmigrant and immigrant visas.

  • Nonimmigrant Visas: L-1 (Intracompany Transferees), H-1B (Professionals), E1/E-2 (Treaty Trader/Investor), J (Exchange Visitor), B (Business Visitor), TN (Canadian and Mexican Nationals), R (Religious Worker), P (Performers and Athletes), and O (Extraordinary Ability). Assisting foreign nationals with social security, driver license and other issues related to their stay in the US
  • Immigrant Petitions/Visas: Researching the best immigration process for obtaining legal permanent residence in the US based on either employment or family relationship; gathering documents, preparing petitions and applications and filing with the USCIS and Consulates; assisting with maintaining legal status during the process. Assisting with maintaining their green card status, preparing re-entry permits and renewing green cards
  • I-9 Issues: Review of I-9 forms
  • Training: Assisted in training clients' professional staff; involved in coordinating the immigration process; and prepared training manuals

Ms. MacIsaac is the co-author of two articles printed in the Michigan Bar Journal: "Post 9-11 Challenges for the Immigration Paralegal", (July 2007), Volume 86, No. 7 and "Going Global", (March 2001), Volume 80, No.3.
