Brian E. McGinty
Brian E. McGinty is an associate based in Butzel Long's Detroit office. He concentrates his practice on business and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on intellectual property litigation. Mr. McGinty also practices in the areas of construction and appellate litigation.
Mr. McGinty is a graduate of Harvard Law School (J.D.). While a student there, he worked as an intern for Justice Henry duPont Ridgely of the Delaware Supreme Court, where he researched and analyzed appellate arguments and wrote bench memoranda in both civil and criminal appeals.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. McGinty attended and graduated from Dartmouth College (B.A., cum laude, 2009). He spent a year studying at University College Cork in Cork, Ireland before matriculating at Dartmouth. In addition, he studied abroad for a trimester at Beijing Normal University in China and for a semester at the Queen's University of Belfast in Northern Ireland, U.K.
Mr. McGinty has a working knowledge of Mandarin Chinese.
Mr. McGinty is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
