The UAW has just announced its new and controversial approach to organizing employees of foreign-owned automotive manufacturers and suppliers – “Principles for Fair Union Elections.” Employers in the automotive industry -- both OEMs and suppliers -- need to understand these Principles and what they may mean to non-unionized companies in the automotive industry.
Butzel Long invites you to participate in a complimentary webinar from 11:30am to 12:30pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 to learn about the Principles. The webinar will address the following questions:
- What are the UAW’s Principles for Fair Union Elections?
- Why the UAW has issued the Principles?
- What are the UAW’s plans for seeking employer agreement to the Principles?
- How should employers react to the issuance of the UAW’s principles?
- What unanswered legal issues do the Principles pose for employers that agree to the Principles?
This interactive session will consist of a 45-minute panel presentation followed by a question and answer session. Participants will be able to ask questions during the webinar via email or telephone.
John P. Hancock, Jr. will serve as moderator. Gary W. Klotz and Craig S. Schwartz will serve on the panel and answer participants’ questions.
