Kevin C. O'Malley

Kevin C. O’Malley is a Shareholder practicing in Butzel Long’s Lansing office. He concentrates his practice on banking, corporate and commercial real estate matters.

Mr. O’Malley represents banks and bank holding companies, focusing on special assets; loan workouts; restructuring; sales and assignments of bank loans, instruments and security interests; perfection documents; and borrower/guarantor collection matters. He also acts as general counsel for Michigan corporations of all sizes. Mr. O’Malley is a Registered Lobbyist in the State of Michigan.

Mr. O’Malley has written numerous articles for the Michigan Society of Association Executives, the Michigan Banker and other scholarly publications. He is a speaker for the Michigan Society of Association Executives, banking associations and private companies.

Mr. O’Malley is a graduate of Temple University School of Law (J.D.) and Villanova University (B.A.). He was an M.B.A. degree candidate at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Mr. O’Malley was an adjunct professor at both Thomas M. Cooley Law School and Temple University School of Law, respectively.

Mr. O’Malley serves as a Director of: The Michigan Chamber of Commerce, The Lansing Economic Development Corporation, The Lansing Tax Increment Authority and The Lansing Brownfield Development Authority, respectively. Mr. O'Malley is a Member of the City of Lansing Mayor’s Council of Economic Advisors. He is a Trustee of Oneida Charter Township and was formerly a Member of Oneida Charter Township’s Planning Board. He is involved with the Lansing City Rescue Mission and the Volunteers of America. Previously, Mr. O’Malley was a Member of the Board of Police Commissioners for the City of Lansing, Vice Chairman and Treasurer for the Capital Area District Library and the President of the Philadelphia Jaycees.

Mr. O’Malley is a Diamond Award Nominee and a Gavel Award Recipient from the Michigan Society of Association Executives.

Mr. O’Malley is a FAA-licensed Private Pilot who holds the United States and World Records for “Speed Over a Recognized Course in a Single Engine Piston-Powered Airplane” from Lansing, Michigan to Evansville, Indiana, as certified by both the National Aeronautic Association and the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.
