Butzel Long is proud to be a sponsor of OESA's upcoming M&A Conference, Automotive M&A: Getting Ready for the Next Wave.
OESA invites members and industry guests to attend the OESA M&A conference on Oct. 5, 2010, at The Inn at St. John's, Plymouth, Mich. The theme of the conference, “Automotive M&A: Getting Ready for the Next Wave,” recognizes that the auto industry, after being hit hard by economic strife and unprecedented restructuring, is finally ready for the next wave of M&A activity.
Gregory Ledford, managing director, The Carlyle Group, will deliver the luncheon keynote address. Ledford, head of Carlyle’s automotive and transportation group, focuses on U.S. buyout opportunities. He will address the current state of private equity in the auto industry, with a focus on deals that work.
Bob King, president, UAW, will deliver the evening keynote address. King, elected to the presidency in June 2010, has stated that the keywords of the 21st century UAW are flexibility, quality, teamwork, productivity, continuous cost-savings and respect. He will speak about the UAW’s new agenda and how it relates to the industry today.
Many members will recall that Ledford and King delivered well-received addresses at OESA M&A conferences in 2006 and 2009, respectively.
Justin Klimko, shareholder and president, Butzel Long, and Andy Wilson, national managing partner, divestiture services, Deloitte LLP, will team up to deliver: “Money and Borders: Cross-Border Investments in a Changing Global Marketplace.” They will deliver a balanced perspective on how foreign buyers are likely to play a major role in this new M&A environment.
Attendees will hear additional perspectives on supply chain consolidation, capital markets and family ownership from:
- Pat Dreisig, Shareholder, Butzel Long
- Rod Lache, Research Analyst, Deutsche Bank (invited)
