Robert M. Nemzin is an associate practicing in Butzel Long’s Bloomfield Hills office. He concentrates his practice in the areas of Corporate, Tax, Real Estate, and Wealth Management.
Mr. Nemzin is a graduate of New York University School of Law (LL.M., Taxation, 2007). He is also a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2006) where he was the Title Editor for the Law Review and a member of the Frank Murphy Honor Society and the Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit Honor Society. Mr. Nemzin interned as a Law Clerk with The Findling Law Firm, P.L.C., where he had the opportunity to research, analyze and draft legal documents including trial and appellate motions, complaints, and affidavits. He also served the Honorable Bernard A. Friedman, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, as a Judicial Intern where he performed a variety of duties including the legal analysis of pending cases and the preparation of memoranda to aid clerks and the Judge in the disposition of pending civil and criminal matters.

Mr. Nemzin is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A., Communication Studies, 2003). He enjoyed many honors as an undergraduate including the following: recipient of the Albert Goodman Scholarship (1999-2000), recipient of the Communication Studies Summer Scholar (June 2002), and recipient of the G. McDonald Communication Studies Scholarship (March 2003). He also received University Honors in both the Winter 2002 and Fall 2002 semesters.
Mr. Nemzin is admitted to practice in Michigan and New York. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Section of Taxation. He is also a member of the ABA Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section and serves as the Co-Vice-Chair of the Young Lawyers Network. He also served as a Fellow in the ABA Real Property, Trust & Estate Fellows Program, and other memberships include the State Bar of Michigan and the New York State Bar Association.
Mr. Nemzin’s presentations include: “The Lifecycle of a Family Business Owner: Birth, Midlife Crisis, Death and Beyond!" at the 2010 ABA RPTE Spring Symposia; "Planning with Tenancies in Common – An Alternative to an FLP?" at the ABA Tax/RPTE 2009 Joint Fall CLE meeting; and, "Recent Developments in Estate Planning and Estate Administration with Closely-Held Businesses" at the ABA Tax/RPTE 2008 Joint Fall CLE meeting.
