Christopher J. Nelson is a Shareholder and Practice Group Leader of Butzel Long’s Business Litigation practice.
He is a litigator specializing in complex, business-related civil litigation, including disputes involving business acquisitions, corporate management, real estate, fraud, insurance coverage, environmental liabilities, class action defense, the Uniform Commercial Code, and other business and commercial contracts. He has appeared in courts throughout Michigan and before the courts of Illinois, Ohio and Kansas. He is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, and serves as an appointed mediator for commercial cases pending in Oakland County.
Mr. Nelson is a graduate of Washington University School of Law (J.D., 1995) where he served as Associate Editor of the Washington University Law Quarterly, and authored “Director Liability and the Insolvent, Federally Chartered Financial Institution,” 73 Wash U.L.Q. 1447 (1995). He also is a graduate of Michigan State University (B.A., 1992).
