Gordon W. Didier is Counsel to Butzel Long, practicing in the firm's Bloomfield Hills office. He served on the Firm's Board of Directors for 10 years from 2000 to 2010 and prior to that as a Practice Group Leader for many years. Mr. Didier is a 1970 graduate of The University of Michigan with an A.B. in Economics. While on active service as a U.S. naval officer, he earned an M.B.A. from Inter-American University in 1973. He received his J.D. degree from The University of Michigan Law School in 1975.

He has managed substantial corporate transactions, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, including international transactions with Europe, Latin America and the Far East. He has handled significant business litigation and represented clients before State and Federal regulatory agencies in administrative and appellate proceedings. Mr. Didier has particular expertise in distributor and supplier relationships both in transactional and litigation matters. In addition, he has represented borrowers and lenders in commercial loan transactions as well as the acquisition, financing, development and leasing of substantial real estate projects.

Mr. Didier's practice includes the representation of manufacturing and service companies involved in automotive, aerospace, healthcare and other industries as well as architects and developers of real estate and commercial lenders. He currently serves as counsel and advisor to a range of business entities with operations in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia as well as specifically Michigan-based businesses. Mr. Didier also has served as counsel to non-profit corporations, including advising on corporate governance matters.
Mr. Didier is listed in The Best Lawyers in America. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Detroit and American Bar Associations. He also served for several years as chair of both the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Building Authority of the Charter Township of Plymouth. Mr. Didier continues as a member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan, which he previously served as Vice-Chairman for many years and then as Chairman of the Board. He also continues as a senior member of the Planning Committee for the University of Michigan Real Estate Forum.
