The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure are being formally amended effective December 1, 2006, and now recognize that most of the business world stores a significant amount of its data electronically, as opposed to in paper form. These amendments require in-house counsel, human resources personnel, IT personnel, and outside counsel, among others, to all work together in preserving and producing, when requested, electronically stored information.
Butzel Long's Electronic Discovery Group has the legal and technical expertise to navigate these changes and to assist with strategy, collection, preparation, review and production of electronic data in the litigation context. So come spend a morning and begin taking proactive steps to meet these new obligations.
This complimentary two-hour breakfast program will cover the following topics:
~ The specific changes made to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Effective December 1, 2006.
~ Suggestions on formulating or revising your electronic information retention policies in light of the new Rules.
~ When and how to execute a proper legal hold under the Rules when notice of pending litigation is received.
~ How to correctly execute the production of relevant electronically stored information when requested during litigation.
Space for the program is limited so please register no later than January 4, 2007.
