María Cáceres-Boneau

María Cáceres-Boneau is an associate based in Butzel Long’s New York office. She practices in the areas of complex commercial, bankruptcy, and employment litigation. Her practice is concentrated in representing various corporations, investors, creditors, and debtors. Ms. Cáceres-Boneau is an active member of the firm’s Mexico Practice. She advises U.S. companies who wish to establish or expand operations in Mexico.

Ms. Cáceres-Boneau is a graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (J.D., 2008), where she served as co-chair of the Latin American Law Students Association. Ms. Cáceres-Boneau is also a graduate of Hunter College (M.S., 2003) and Yale University (B.A., 2001).

Ms. Cáceres-Boneau is an active member of the firm’s Diversity & Retention and Pro Bono Committees. She has provided substantial pro bono work advising nonprofit clients and community organizations. Her activities have included, among others, incorporation of nonprofit entities, filing for tax exempt status and advice on employment and guardianship matters.

Prior to joining Butzel Long, Ms. Cáceres-Boneau was a law clerk with the Global Finance Group of the law firm Nixon Peabody LLP. Prior to that, she worked as an intern at the Cardozo Tax Clinic and as an appellate extern with the Appeals Division of the New York City Law Department.

Ms. Cáceres-Boneau is admitted to practice in New York. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and of the Hispanic National Bar Association. She currently serves on the Young Leaders Advisory Council of Global Kids, Inc.

Ms. Cáceres-Boneau is fluent in Spanish.
